Local maps and information on good dog walks in North Yorkshire are readily available.

Please advise us in advance if you intend to bring your dog/s to allow for preparation of your accommodation with furniture covers and dog accessories including bedding, towels, feeding bowls, biodegradable poo bags and welcome treats. Many shops, cafés and restaurants in our charming local market town have open their doors to our four-legged friends. Malton is the food capital of Yorkshire where many artisan food and drink producers have established their base. Local dog day care facility – they meet new friends and you enjoy few 'pet-free' hours

 

Situated just a few minutes from Castle Howard Station, Dutch Barn Day Care for Dogs is a superb facility created by our dog-loving neighbour Mildred Reiniers. Operating daytimes Monday to Friday, Dutch Barn will care for your dog for half a day (up to 5 hours) or a whole day (up to 10 hours) at a very reasonable cost.

 

This facility is extremely useful for guests who wish to enjoy a  visit to nearby Castle Howard or spend a day in the historic city of York. Your dog will also enjoy a fun time socialising with other dogs whilst being well cared for. Simply remember to bring a valid dog vaccination card (inc. kennel cough recommended).
